Blood and Marrow Transplant

The Intermountain Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program performs stem cell transplantation using the patients’ own marrow/blood stem cells and marrow stem/blood stem cells from matched healthy donors, including matched unrelated donors. The blood and marrow transplant treatments are given as potentially lifesaving treatments for a number of different cancers. Different intensities of treatments are offered, varying from “mini-transplants” (non-myeloablative) to very high dosed transplants depending on the age and clinical condition of the patient and the cancer treated.
